About the Site

What is iloveimg.online?

An independent image-format converter supporting 25+ formats — JPEG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, HEIC, TIFF, ICO, EPS, SVG, PSD, RAW, and more. See About Us.

Is iloveimg.online the same as iLoveIMG.com?

No. iLoveIMG.com is a separate, well-known image platform with its own apps and paid tiers. We're independent. Different operator, different infrastructure, no affiliation. See Brand Identity for the disambiguation.

Who runs iloveimg.online?

Single-publisher operation. Operator: Giovanni Picaro. See Meet the Team.

What technology does iloveimg.online run on?

Laravel (PHP framework) on Hosting.com hosting, fronted by Cloudflare. Conversion uses ImageMagick / libvips / libheif / libavif / libraw — standard server-side image-processing libraries.

About using the converter

Do I need an account?

No. Conversion works without registration. The Site does not currently offer a user-account system.

Is iloveimg.online free?

Yes. Funded by Google AdSense display advertising. No paid tier currently.

What's the maximum file size?

50 MB per file.

How long does conversion take?

2–5 seconds for files under 5 MB. 10–20 seconds for large RAW or TIFF inputs (RAW decoding and TIFF compression are slow by nature).

Can I convert multiple files at once?

Currently single file per request. Batch conversion is on the roadmap; for now, use the converter once per file.

About data handling

Where do my files go?

Files travel via HTTPS to our server, get processed by ImageMagick / libvips / libheif / libavif / libraw (depending on format), and become available for download. Files are auto-deleted within one hour — sooner if you successfully download. We don't keep copies, don't analyse content, no human ever views uploads. Per Data Handling.

Is the conversion really server-side?

Yes. For the formats we support (HEIC, RAW, EPS, PSD, AVIF, etc.), client-side conversion in a browser isn't feasible at our scope. We're being honest about that. For client-side conversion of simple formats (PNG, JPEG, WebP), Squoosh is genuinely client-side and worth using when their format coverage is enough.

Do you train AI on my uploads?

No. Per AI Policy: uploads are never used to train AI models, fine-tune, evaluate, or any related purpose.

What about for sensitive images?

Honest answer: don't upload them. Use ImageMagick command-line locally, or GIMP, or Preview/Photos on macOS. Any online converter requires uploading the file; if your image contains passports, financial documents, or anything you wouldn't email to a stranger, local conversion is safer. We say this on the converter page too because it's true.

About format support

What formats do you support?

25+ formats: JPEG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, GIF, HEIC, HEIF, TIFF, ICO, BMP, EPS, SVG, PSD, AI, JP2, APNG, JXL, DDS, EXR, TGA, JFIF, BMP / DIB / PCX / XBM / XPM, and RAW formats from Canon (CR2, CR3), Nikon (NEF), Sony (ARW), Fujifilm (RAF), Olympus (ORF), Panasonic (RW2), Pentax (PEF), Adobe DNG, and ~500 other camera bodies via libraw. Full catalogue with implementation notes on Format Catalog.

Why convert HEIC to JPEG?

HEIC is the iPhone default since iOS 11. Many web platforms still don't render HEIC reliably (older Safari versions on Windows, many WordPress themes, lots of SaaS tools). Converting to JPEG (or WebP for smaller size) makes the image work everywhere.

Does AVIF work in all browsers?

Modern browsers yes (Chrome since 85, Firefox since 93, Safari since 16.4 / iOS 16.4 in 2023). Older browsers no. Check your audience's browser distribution before using AVIF as primary delivery format.

Can you do AI upscaling / enhance?

No. We do format conversion. For AI-based upscale, denoise, generative restoration: Topaz Photo AI, Adobe's Enhance, Let's Enhance, BigJPG.

Can you edit images?

No. Format conversion only, not retouching / layering / colour grading. For those: GIMP (free, GUI), Photopea (free, browser), Affinity Photo, Adobe Photoshop.

About AdSense / advertising

Why are you showing ads?

Display advertising is the Site's monetization model. The Site is free; ads cover hosting, bandwidth, image-processing CPU, and storage during the 1-hour file-retention window. Per Affiliate Disclosure.

Is iloveimg.online AdSense-approved?

Yes. AdSense is active on the Site (publisher pub-8857722445444177). See AdSense Compliance.

I saw a bad ad — what do I do?

Report to abuse [at] iloveimg [punto] online. We work with AdSense to block per Affiliate Disclosure category exclusions.

Do you use my images for advertising?

No. Per Data Handling: image content is not used for advertising in any form.

About format fidelity

Will my image quality be reduced?

Depends on the conversion pair. Lossless ↔ lossless: no quality loss. Lossless → lossy: quality based on quality setting (default 75-95). Lossy → lossless: no further loss but baked-in original loss preserved. Lossy → lossy: double-quantisation can introduce artefacts. See Accuracy Disclaimer.

Is EXIF preserved?

Default behaviour for web-export pairs (PNG / JPEG / WebP / AVIF): stripped (privacy & size benefit). Opt-in to retain. Default behaviour for archival pairs (TIFF, PSD): preserved.

Are colour profiles preserved?

ICC colour profiles preserved by default for formats that support them. sRGB assumed for inputs without profile. For colour-critical work, verify with your normal proofing workflow.

Why does my RAW conversion look different from Lightroom?

libraw applies default tone-mapping. Real RAW workflows (exposure, colour, lens corrections) need Lightroom / Capture One / darktable. We provide convenience-grade RAW conversion, not a substitute for proper RAW developers.
